This was a dress that I had started making maybe 2 years ago? For whatever reason, I quit it, and left it in my fabric stash. Easy enough to turn it into a skirt by adding the coordinating fabric at the bottom and a tie in addition to the elastic at the top.
Outgrown red pants+ plaid fabric from my mom's basement.
"Pillowcase" style dress made using a piece of a large scarf from Target 2 (maybe 3) summers ago.

This is the dress from earlier, now on my sleepy-faced, crazy-haired morning princess. It was a chilly day, so for school we paired it with a cute shrug sweater from, wait for it, Target (you're not surprised, are you?)

"Upcycled" clothes

I've recently become fascinated by upcycled clothing ideas. What could be better?
  • Frugal? Check!
  • Creative? Check!
  • Useful? Check!
  • (and most importantly) Tangible? Check! (How amazing is it to have something tangible at the end of the day, something that you created, that wasn't there in the morning?)

I'm still learning, but thought I'd share my experiments with you
;)

First is an outgrown pair of pants and a top.
Combined together= a pretty cute new skirt. It's not perfect, but hey, it was my first attempt.

Project #2- Tank top + a random piece of fabric from my "stash". Not bad, Princess M loves it!

Check back for a picture of M in this dress.

Stackable Bows!!

Every once in a while I have a good idea!! I think this is great!!

Stackable Bows!

These adorable bows are made so that they can be easily stacked.
Want to match your favorite football team?
Here is a medium pair of orange boutique bows, and a small pair of green bows with tails.

Stack them for game day!

I think it's a great way to support your favorite team. And you have flexibility to wear the bows separately as well!

The possibilities are endless!! Here are some stacks I made with all medium boutique bows:

Easter Bows

Much to my chagrin, the princess requested "Not so Poofy" Bows for Easter. This was our result...

Megan helped pick out the ribbon and the beads to match her dress.

Her favorite dolly also needed bows and a bracelet as well.

I also added a bow and ribbon to her Easter bonnet. I loved working with the beads on the bows, it's a fun new option. Would your princess like a bow with beads??

Some new projects

Finally! a bow board for the princess' room! She loves to organize the bows by color ;)

Polka-Dot Dress with matching bows and socks:

Some very full purple and lace ruffled socks:
